Very good for tight spaces.
By A. Fryman
We have an old coal fireplace which is only 8" deep. We could not find any type of gas flame logs that would fit at all. This product installed easily and fit almost perfectly into the space. We still get the look of a fire and additional heat. The heater aspect of it has a high & low setting and is very quiet. Another advantage point is we don't have to worry about small children getting to close to a flame and getting burnt. I am very pleased with this product.

The Flame Looks So Real
By D. Jensen
Last summer I had our wood burning medal fireplace chimney removed and the fireplace capped. This left our fireplace useless. I looked at gas inserts and gas logs but didnt like the way they looked or they wouldn't fit. Then I saw this Dimplex electric in a furniture store. I was amazed how real it looked. I ordered it.It only took 3 days to come. Took it out of the box and put it in the fireplace opening and had it going in 20 minutes. It looks far better than any gas unit. The flame looks real and the embers looks great too. Guests come to the house and say it looks like a real fire. I am very happy with this unit. Thank you Dimplex and thank you Amazon.

Love it!
By Lisa F
I love the look and feel of fireplaces, but they are very rare in South Florida, where I live. An artificial fireplace was the answer for me. I bought this insert to replace a unit that burned gel cans in a freestanding fireplace. This electric unit is beautiful! I like it so much more than the gel can type. This unit has a very realistic look. The logs are "real" (3-dimensional), not painted onto a screen like some others I've seen. The embers seem like they are really glowing and the "flames" dance realistically. And it is nice to be able to use it without heat if you wish. I highly recommend this fireplace insert.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!
By C. M. Simmons
I purchased one of these humidifiers last winter. At first, I loved it so much I ordered 2 more for my kids. We used them for 3 months and then put them away when we shut down the heater for the season. This winter, however, we've had nothing but problems. The first one started leaking water . (I suggest putting the unit in a shallow container if you have nice furniture, as this happens quite often.) The units were still under warranty so I contacted the company. They tried everything possible to persuade me from returning it. Their solutions to fix the unit were as follows: Clean the unit with lemon juice, only use distilled water, and empty the unit when not in use. I already do all of these things, but I have no idea how that will "repair" a leak. The unit leak so much that it stopped working. I spend $10 to return the unit. A week later someone from the company called to say there was nothing wrong with it so they were sending it back without doing any repairs. Needless to say, since they didn't bother fixing or replacing it, the unit still leaks water and doesn't produce mist.

When the first one broke, I started using one of the others I had. But after just one month of use, that one no longer produces mist. And now the third unit just started leaking water. I'm really screwed now because at this point all 3 units are out of warranty.

Initially, I spent over $150 on the three units I bought. I can't believe Sunpentown refused to do anything about the defective one I sent back. You think they would've replaced it just to keep a good customer. Take my advice: SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! THIS UNIT IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY...AND SUNPENTOWN DOES NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY!!!

Nicely Done
By M. Holmes
I travel frequently and, while working on a job, my old travel humidifier kicked the bucket. After much internet searching, I found this nifty little device. First off, it's MUCH smaller than you think-- slightly larger than a large box of 250-ct matches. Insert a water bottle, plug it in & you're set. Easy to clean & carry with you, the thing I love most about it is that if it runs out of water, it stops on it's own. It puts out a large amount of cold humid air for it's stature, but unfortunately it struggled against the incredibly dry air in the Minneapolis hotel room where I was staying. My recommendation would be to run the humidifier all day while you're gone with the door closed to your room and see if that humidifies the space more effectively.

Love the convenience
By MH
I initially purchased this portable humidifier to use at the office. It is extremely dry, and I had been getting dried up bloody noses from the dry heat. I was searching for a filterless humidifier, because I did not want to worry about filters get mildewy and gross, especially from not using it over the weekends and holidays. I also wanted something that would be easy to put away in a cupboard when I left work. I came across this Suppentown portable humidifier and thought it sounded perfect.

It has worked incredibly well so far. As an added bonus, I was easily able to wipe it out, put it in my bag, and take it with me to visit out of town family for the Christmas holidays. They have electric baseboard heating, which is extremely drying. I used to keep a regular humidifier there, but I was the only one who used it, so it needed a new filter every time I used it. This portable one worked perfectly!! A few family members were very interested in it, and my mom is even going to order one after seeing how great it worked.

The only thing I can think of that would make it better is if you could use a larger bottle. 16.9 ounces doesn't last very long if you have it on high (does not last through the night). I am curious to try a 20 oz or 24 oz bottle possibly one day. I have had issues with a couple bottles used so far. I think it is because of the cheap, flimsy plastic used. I have tried an Aquafina bottle and a store brand water bottle. Both could be a little difficult getting the adapter on properly. I did find a bottle that works perfectly and seems to be much sturdier (it is 17 oz., so close enough to the 16.9 limit). It is Talking Rain Sparkling Ice flavored water. I will keep a couple of those on hand at the office, home, and my parents' house.

I highly recommend this humidifier for office use, traveling, or small rooms. I'm not sure it would be the right thing for constant use at a house because of the water limitation. GREAT PRODUCT!!!

UPDATE 10/28/13
--------------------

Somebody in my office was commenting on my humidifier, so I went to Amazon to find the link to send them. I just wanted to post an update -- I've had my Suppentown humidifier for almost 4 years now, and it still works perfectly. I just started using it again last week, so I do only use it during the cold weather (roughly October through March). It goes through a 17 ounce bottle in about 6 hours. Sometimes it can take close to 8 hours on not so dry days.

Through trial and error, I have discovered the perfect setup for making this humidifier work perfectly every time. I only use bottles by "Sparkling ICE". I tried several different kinds in the beginning, and these were the only type that allowed the adapter to screw on securely and didn't leak. So I stuck with them. I reuse the same 2 bottles (keep 2 in case I don't want to get up immediately when 1 runs out of water). I did get a 2nd humidifier to keep at my parents' house for when I am there, and it still works great, too.

I tried 20 ounce bottles (the Sparkling ICE are 17 ounces), but they immediately leaked. It's too much water pressure for the unit to work correctly. It's going to leak every time. I read some recent reviews, and it seems like a lot of people are having problems with leaking units. It's a shame, because mine works perfectly after the bottle experimentations. I also make sure that the water is not filled completely to the top of the bottle. I fill it to about 1/2 an inch below the neck. Filling it all the way up also seems to create too much pressure and will cause a leak.

Another cause of leaks --- if you lift the bottle and set it back down, more water goes into the unit. Also if you move it around, the button will release more water into the unit. This also can cause a leak. If I accidentally do this more than once, I will take off the bottle for a few minutes until some of the water has been used, and I will then set the bottle back down.

I absolutely LOVE my humidifier and wouldn't give it up for anything. It has worked perfectly for my needs for almost 4 years and has kept me from getting bloody noses while at work. I highly recommend it to anybody who wants a low maintenance option for an office, hotel room, or any small room in general. (I've used it at home, and it's not enough humidity for me there for everyday use.) Just try the water bottle options that I've explained, and I think you will be more than happy with this.

Works phenomenally well, but needs constant cleaning of filters and traps
By Todd Bartholomew
I upgraded from an older Bissell Little Green Machine to this unit based primarily on my experience with Bissell products. The PROheat has a number of nice features that ultimately sold me on it and after using it for a few months now I'm fairly pleased with it. I particularly like that you can choose to either have the heat on or off. I've heard some people say that using the heat can break down your carpets more quickly and cause the stain to get worse as it picks up new dirt that is tracked in. I don't know if that's not the case, but since my old Bissell unit lacked heat but did a fine job, I pretty much use this minus the heat. Even with the heat off I'm stunned at how good a job this unit does. It's even cleaned stains that I gave up as a lost cause. Most astonishingly, I usually vacuum first before using the steamer and then vacuum again once it's dry. I've discovered I actually vacuum up MORE dirt after steam cleaning than I did before. Clearly this machine is knocking loose built up dirt which means cleaner and nicer appearing carpets than ever before. I also liked the wand attachment from my old Little Green machine, especially for upholstered pieces and hard to reach spots and this thankfully has that.

But there are some drawbacks and limitations. At least initially you will pick up a LOT of carpet fibers when you use the machine, which means FREQUENT cleaning of the rotating brushes and especially the multiple filters on the unit. In some instances I wound up using tweezers to get out fibers from the particularly small filter on the underside of the water tank. The one on top is easier to clean out, but particles trap almost everywhere on this machine. The water tank holds a pitifully small amount of water and/or cleaning solution which means frequent refills, and it slows down the whole cleaning process. The self contained tank is easy to empty, but if you think that will eliminate odors from dirty water guess again, it doesn't. The tank does seem to leak or the seals don't hold tight and so dirty water does collect in the well that the tank sits in, which ads to the nasty smells as well as adding yet another think you have to clean up. Another particularly annoying habit is the dirty water seeping out the front of the machine by the cleaning rollers when you turn off and store the machine. This is really disgusting and trust me, don't store it on carpet or even leave it sitting there for very long as it WILL leak! When in use loose fibers tend to gather on the underside of the machine around the brush rollers so you manually have to gather it up by hand, which slows down the cleaning process. Once you've cleaned your carpet a few times that problem (hopefully) should minimize, although it has yet to happen for me. As a result there's a considerable amount of maintenance you have to do to ensure your machine is operating under optimum conditions. Even so, it's hard to argue with the results. I would probably buy this same unit again, but would also read up on other models just in case they operate more easily. Perhaps I was used to the utter simplicity of the Little Green Machine and sometimes I wish I was still using it, sad to say.

Very Good for the Price
By S. Mason
I just purchased a Bissell ProHeat today and am definitly pleased with my purchase. The carpet which was in rather poor shape has seen a clear improvement and IMHO a professional couldn't have done a better job. The cleaner itself was simple to assemble, straight-forward to load with cleaning solution (I like the combo-tank idea!), and very easy to use.

One drawback was the limited size of the tank for holding cleaning solution, I found myself refilling it 4 times to do 3 rooms and a lazy-boy chair. Of course re-filling was at least easy to do and to be expected when buying the low-end model. Further, as with it seems all of these contraptions, the hand-held attachment would spray at far to wide an angle but thats not a unique problem to this one cleaner.

Overall, for the price, if you have a small house or apartment and are on a limited budget or just like to pinch a penny or two, I would surely recommend this Bissell.

Much better than the Hoover! But you should know....
By R. Smith
When my old Hoover SteamVac with Power Surge broke down, I really hesitated before buying the Bissell ProHeat. But when my local Target store only had the Bissell in stock, I figured what the heck - if I test it out and it doesn't work well (as some of the reviews said) I will just clean it up, repack and return to Target.
Well, the Bissell outperforms the Hoover in every way! Here are the comparisons:
1. tank size - yes, Hoover is bigger but the Bissell is a much better design. The Hoover waste water tank is very hard to empty and clean without spilling at least some. The Bissell has a special pour spout.
2. Heat - Bissell heats the water and this makes a big difference in terms of loosening and picking up dirt. Huge.
3. Bissell upholstery tool works much better.
4. Bissell is easy to disassemble and clean. The suction end comes off easily for rinsing; the waste tank and lid are super easy to clean as well.

There were some complaints about the machine jamming up or not sucking. Here is what I did:
1. I took my time and rinsed the guck out of the tank each time before refilling.
2. When the suction seemed to lessen, I stopped machine and cleaned out the hair and fuzz under the brush component. Worked fine after doing this.
3. At one point, the water did not seem to be getting suctioned up at all. I called Bissell and they walked me through to the issue: there is a red valve in the tank that will stop the airflow if the tank is too full. How does this occur? By overfilling in the first place. So don't top off the tank - or if you see that the red valve has come up (you can hear it stop the suction) then empty some water out of the tank.

Overall, the design is really great - I love the one tank for both clean and dirty water, the fact that the water gets nice and hot, the ease in cleaning the machine. In cleaning my living room, bedroom and hallways, I probably refilled tank about 8 times. Not too bad. Took an afternoon to do it and except for pulling the carpet fuzz out of the brush area, it was a clean and easy operation.
